Our client, MedTech Europe is seeking for a Regulations and Industrial Policy Senior Manager, Specialist in Medical Technology Environmental Affairs.


Your role in MedTech Europe

MedTech Europe is the European Trade Association representing the Medical Technology Industries, including Medical Devices, Diagnostics and Digital Health.

As a member of the Regulations and Industrial Policy Team, you take a leading role in achieving MedTech Europe’s goals in a range of regulatory issues with a focus on Sustainability, Environmental and Chemicals Policy and the relevant legislation applicable to the Medical Technology Industry, e.g., the Medical Device Regulation 2017/745, the In Vitro Diagnostic Medical Device Regulation 2017/746, the REACH, POPs, and Biocidal Products Regulations, the RoHS and WEEE Directives.

In collaboration with the Regulations and Industrial Policy Director and your Member Committees, you will share responsibility for MedTech Europe’s strategic development, so that the industry’s long-term goals regarding Environment and Sustainability are met.

As Senior Manager, you will take the lead in following Regulatory and Policy Activities, developing and nurturing partnerships with stakeholders in EU Institutions and Agencies, in particular the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA).

Key area of responsibilities

Strategies and Tactics

  • Together with the Regulations and Industrial Policy Director, you develop, advise on and take a key role in implementing strategies to advance the members’ interests in the Environment and Sustainability domain

Technical, Scientific and Regulatory Affairs Expertise

  • Provide Regulatory and Scientific advice to members and colleagues on Sustainability and Environmental matters, especially EU Regulation of Chemicals and its potential legal and practical impact on members
  • Collect, compile and organize (often scientific) input from members, submit and communicate on as industry input, e.g., into responses to public consultations
  • Suggest opportunities for new work items, advocacy and communication.

Project and Resource Management

  • Lead internal member groups to meet the objectives including coordination of the debate
  • Building consensus and advise on possible successful regulatory strategies
  • Develop position papers and presentations to support projects and programmes


  • Represent MedTech Europe to external stakeholders
  • Foster and maintain contacts with key stakeholders, e.g. EU Institutions and Agencies
  • Alert the MedTech Europe hierarchy and members to issues ahead of time and propose solutions in line with the Association’s priorities and strategy


  • Update the content related to your areas of responsibility on the MedTech Europe website
  • Respond in a timely manner to members’ and non-members’ requests and where appropriate trigger wider activity by the Association on those requests
  • Communicate information on meetings, projects and programmes to members and externally to identified stakeholders
  • Promote new topics and innovative approaches/solutions


Your Profile

  • Master’s ideally in Environmental, Biomedical, Natural or Social Sciences
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Environmental Affairs, Healthcare: Administration, Government or Industry
  • Experience working for or in a trade association is a plus.
  • Excellent Regulatory or Scientific knowledge related to Healthcare, preferably in relation to Environmental Affairs and Medical Technology
  • Experience in leading or working in projects, team management expertise is an asset as Sustainability and Environment is becoming a high priority for the industry
  • Experience of or within the EU Institutions a plus, especially regarding Environmental Policy
  • Fluent in English, other EU language(s) highly appreciated
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with a wide variety of audiences
  • Ability to easily engage peers, external groups and international bodies
  • Possess or have a demonstrated ability to create and nuture own network
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
