Support engineer (based in the EU)

Function

The mission

After a thorough training period, the support engineer will be responsible for the optimization of quality customer support in the EMEA region.

The responsibilities:

  • Provide expert advice to machine vision engineers by email, phone and in person.
  • Provide training to industrial sales and engineering partners.
  • Develop an excellent working relationship with key European technical customers.
  • Travel throughout Europe to support sales activities and provide training.
  • Gather intelligence about developments in machine vision applications and technology to feed into the Gardasoft Product and Markets Strategy.
  • Spend several months in UK for initial training and several months in USA to help support local sales and applications engineers.
  • After the initial period of travel, this role will be based in an EU country.

Profile

The ideal support engineer will have the following profile.

  • engineering degree (electromechanics, electronics, automation, robotics,)
  • Highly curious mind and affinity with technological innovations and innovations in factory automation.
  • Very flexible and servie minded.
  • Willingness to spend several months in the UK and US during the 1st year, for training purposes.
  • Excellent interpersonal & training skills with the ability to interact effectively throughout various functional groups and hierarchical levels.
  • Excellent knowledge of English is a must + at least one other EU language (e.g.: French, German)
  • Strong analytical (numeric & strategic) and process thinking capabilities.
  • The ideal candidate has a first successful consultative sales experience in factory automation.

Gardasoft only considers candidates with an EU passport. The company will NOT support work permit applications.
